Blue Acorn & IRCE 2014

Blue Acorn is excited to be back on the floor entertaining and educating merchants at IRCE next week in Chicago! This will be the 10th Annual Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, and it will feature nearly 90% of the eCommerce solutions market.

Merchants will have the chance to network with more than 600 agencies, systems integrators, and technology partners, most of whom will be vying for their business. All of the tactics will be coming out: giveaways, booze, promotional models (for the classy companies), hypnosis, free consultations, etc. It may seem like a lot of noise – because it is – but an exhibition of this size really does present a great opportunity for merchants to meet with a lot of companies in less than a week. If you’re curious to know which ones we think represent the best of breed in their respective categories, stop by our booth, and we’ll point you in the right direction.

This year we will be in booth #1543, which is at the base of the stairwell to the left of the elevated West Hall Cafe, where we will be serving up eCommerce insights all day long. Whether you’re interested in learning more about integrating Intelligence in the form of quantitative and qualitative data into your eCommerce strategy or curious to hear our (sometimes brutally) honest opinions on just about anything, please stop by and visit.

We’ll also be serving up craft beers for our VIPs throughout the conference and hangover beers for those who decided to participate in the after-parties on Tuesday and/or Wednesday night. Please note, if you’re reading this, you’re a VIP.

The eBay in the Room

This year’s IRCE has a particularly eBay-ish feel to it. eBay Inc will be hosting the Welcome Reception on Tuesday, and conference attendees will be treated to a keynote from eBay’s Chief Executive Officer & President at eBay Inc, John Donahoe, the following morning. His keynote, Connected Commerce: The New Opportunity for Retailers in an Evolving Retail Environment will run from 8:30-9:00am, and having caught his keynote at Imagine 2013, we can assure you that you won’t want to miss it.

Similar to last year, IRCE attendees will have the chance to meet with the entire eBay family in the middle of the exhibit hall and experience the company’s complete, integrative suite of eCommerce solutions. They will be giving demonstrations of newly released Magento Enterprise Edition throughout the conference, though we recommend setting an appointment to meet with them by clicking here.

Chris J. Guerra is the Chief Marketing Officer at Blue Acorn. Previously, Guerra led the North America division for Portalis AG, launched Coupons.tv a daily deal aggregator and video review site, served as the vice president of business development & strategic initiatives for Entertainment Media Works (EMW), a digital media company, and founded Brand Orders, a community for retailers to purchase wholesale product from brands. Guerra grew up across the country, exposed to the retail industry through family involvement at Barney's NY & Nike.
