Blue Acorn Launches Responsive Site for Crosman

This week, Blue Acorn, a premium eCommerce design, development and optimization agency, announced the launch of a responsive eCommerce site for Crosman, a leading manufacturer and retailer of airgun and airsoft products and accessories. Blue Acorn built the new eCommerce site on the latest version of Magento Enterprise Edition.

Determined to upgrade from their outdated, custom solution, Crosman chose Magento because the scalable eCommerce platform will support their continued growth for years to come. Blue Acorn’s success with new Magento EE implementations and custom module integrations influenced Crosman’s decision to select Blue Acorn as their partner in eCommerce success.

To expedite delivery and reduce costs, Blue Acorn built Crosman’s new responsive site on Magento EE 1.14, a new edition of Magento that is natively responsive. To further improve mobile performance, Blue Acorn implemented Crosman’s designs for specific breakpoints.

On the homepage, sweeping lifestyle images capture the attention of shoppers, while a streamlined navigation makes it easy to find products and information. On category pages, users can filter products with a custom-designed, visual filtering bar. On product pages, users can zoom into high-definition, page-wide images for a detailed view. Since Crosman offers most airgun and airsoft products in multiple calibers, users can select which caliber they want, and watch as all of the technical specs and suggested uses update in real-time.

Blue Acorn integrated Magento with Crosman’s existing custom airgun builder, which gives users the ability to customize every aspect of an airgun, from the barrel to the trigger to personalized engraving. In addition, Blue Acorn created a modular template for Crosman which allowed them to create over 100 pages of static content.

Blue Acorn facilitated the migration of Crosman’s hosting infrastructure to Rackspace and performed a custom JD Edwards ERP integration. The new eCommerce site also integrates with MailChimp for email automation and Addshoppers for social marketing.
